Serbia: Where East + West Collide

Serbia is a country with an ancient history, culture, a wide range of breathtaking landscape in a relatively close area, and some of the the best natural food in world. Formerly the center of Yugoslavia, it has long been at the crossroads of the east and west.

Serbia has such a diverse range of cultures, regions, and places to see. One can get lost in its beauty, nature, and cities for not just a vacation, but a lifetime. Check out some of it’s wonders below.

Belgrade – Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and the cultural center of the Balkans, a lively city that cannot be missed, and the place the Green Studio Hostel Belgrade loves to call home.

Novi Sad – With lovely Austro-Hungarian architecture, a vibrant student population, and home to the world famous EXIT music festival we recommend everyone to stop by this special city.

Niš - The center of southern Serbia with heavy eastern influence in buildings and streets, being the gateway for the west to the east for centuries this is a city like no other you can find in the world.

Kosovo – Kosovo was the heart of Serbia and still is for many people for the last 700 years. War is behind it now and it has recently declared independence.

Tara Mountains - It as if time has stand stilled deep in the Tara Mountains where Serbian culture and heritage has survived over the centuries. One looking for adventure needs no further.

Fruška Gora - A short trip from Belgrade and just outside of Novi Sad lies a beautiful national park full of Monasteries, vineyards, and quaint picturesque villages.
